Etiquette for Mistresses

Veteran director, Chito Roño will be surely making a big noise once again in the big screens with Star Cinema’s and K Productions’ latest masterpiece, “Etiquette for Mistresses”. What so exciting about this movie is the fact that Kris Aquino will be leading with other ABS-CBN’s prime leading ladies, Kim Chiu and Iza Calzado. Another very interesting thing about this project is Claudine Barretto’s great comeback in showbiz as well as in Star Cinema. Plus, these great names will be joined by the returning comedienne, Cheena Crab who is highly anticipated to lead much of the humorous part of this 2015 romantic-drama film.

Basically, the movie features Ms. Julie Yap-Daza’s best-selling novel of the same title, which tackles the story of five ladies – Georgia (Aquino), Chloe (Barretto), Ina (Chiu), Stella (Calzado), and Charley (Crab) – who are living with different lifestyle but happened to be kept women of their respective men. It’s undeniable that infidelity among couples has become a more open topic today in the Philippine movies and TV series. However, this story neither glorifies nor judges the essence of being a mistress. It rather intends to feature different angles and unrealized points on the thought of extra-marital affairs and most importantly, it is jam-packed with significant and relevant life lessons. In fact, many fans are already so excited to finally see Kim Chiu playing a way more mature role in this movie.

After years in the making, “Etiquette for Mistresses” will be finally shown in theatres all over the Philippines on September 30, 2015. Other stars joining the powerhouse cast of the movie are Ms. Helen Gamboa, Tirso Cruz III, Eddie Gutierrez, Pilar Pilapil, Cherry Pie Picache, Freddie Webb, Aiko Melendez, Zoren Legaspi, Sam Concepcion, and Arci Muñoz. The movie is produced by Ms. Charo Santos-Concio, Malou Santos, and Kris Aquino, with the cinematography by Mr. Neil Daza.

Ex With Benefits

This movie definitely has something new to offer to all movie goers, especially those who are into a romantic drama story with some “SPG” scenes. One thing to watch out for is Coleen Garcia’s first ever portrayal of a lead (and a more mature) character in a mainstream movie. It’s undeniable that many viewers of ABS-CBN’s currently airing drama series, “Pasion de Amor”, are amazed by the It’s Showtime co-host’s excellent drama performance, knowing the fact that she’s just a neophyte in this specific stage of show business. How much more that she will be seen in a few highly anticipated intense “SPG” scenes with the hunk dramatic actor, Derek Ramsay (who can be considered a veteran in this movie genre)?

The movie is basically about the story of ex-lovers Adam (played by Ramsay) and Arkisha (played by Garcia) whose respective roads unexpectedly intertwine again several years after their tragic break up. This is actually an adaptation of Ruth Mendoza’s (youramnesiagirl) famous Wattpad entry of the same title. Speaking of Wattpad, this is Star Cinema’s another offering not just to fans of romantic drama, but also to all solid Wattpaders who have read the book version already and are eager to witness this story come to life in the big screen. Will this movie break (or even match) the tremendous success of the previously released Wattpad-based movies like “Diary Ng Panget”, “Talk Back And You’re Dead”, “She’s Dating The Gangster”, and “Just The Way You Are”?

Another promising and versatile young actress of today, Meg Imperial, will be portraying a remarkable role in the movie as well. Her character will be completing the love triangle element of the story and will surely be bringing conflict in the love story of Adam and Arkisha. Directed by Gino M. Santos, “Ex With Benefits” also stars Tirso Cruz III, Carmi Martin, Rayver Cruz, Kitkat, Nina Ricci Alagao, Juan Rodrigo, Jobelle Salvador, and Mengge Cobarrubias. This movie will be shown in cinemas nationwide starting September 2, 2015.
