My Perfect You

My Perfect You is 2018 Romantic Comedy Starring Pia Wurtzbach, Gerald Anderson, Tonton Gutierrez, Dimples Romano, Wilma Doesn’t and Janus Del Prado. Written and Directed by Cathy - Garcia Molina and Produce under Star Cinema. It premiered on March 14, 2018.

The film tells the story of Burn (Gerald Anderson) who lives a seemingly perfect life. After a failed proposal to his girlfriend, Burn’s work performance deteriorated leading to him getting fired. He drives to an unknown location and gets in to an accident which leads him to a resort owned and managed by Abi (Pia Wurtzbach). At first burn is annoyed with Abi’s over optimistic attitude but soon adopts to it which leads to them to slowly fall in love. As burn gets a second chance to fall in love, will it work out or will it lead to another heartbreak.

This movies serves as Pia Wurtzbach’s acting debut after years. In the trailer Pia has showed us not only her charisma but her wit and acting skills as well. Despite being out of the acting limelight for years and despite the trailer has only given us glimpses of Pia’s acting chops, its enough for all of us to be curious enough of what Pia might offer us. The trailer was short but it gave us enough laugh and nod to both of her dramatic and comedic lines.

Gerald Anderson on the other hand has been long known as a sought after leading man in Philippine cinema. So being Pia’s first leading man was a good head start. This is also one of Cathy Garcia Molina’s last few movies before a short directing hiatus and for her to offer another romantic comedy with Ms. Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach and magnetic Gerald Anderson to lead is sure worth watching. Make sure to be in cinemas near you to catch this one of kind movie.

Unexpectedly Yours

Unexpectedly Yours, is a romantic-comedy come-back film starring Sharon Cuneta, Robin Padilla with Julia Barretto and Joshua Garcia, directed by Cathy Garcia- Molina under Star Cinema Productions.Released date last November 29, 2017.

After 30 years, two former high school friends, Patty (Sharon Cuneta) and Cocoy (Robin Padilla) became neighbors and coincidentally was assigned to organize their high school reunion as well. Patty is a single mom living quietly with her daughter Yanni (Julia Barretto). Until they were shaken up when Cocoy and his nephew Jason (Joshua Garcia) comes knocking on their door, pursuing the two ladies.

The comeback film of Sharon and Robin after 30 years, everyone is excited and want to see them together again. The film portrays a story of a past love and to be pursued again in the present. A film full of 'hirit' from Robin Padilla, and 'kilig' moments of Julia and Joshua. Great tandem and chemistry as well. I recommend this movie to make your heart bounce out of love.

Fallback

Fallback, a romance one-year starting Rhian Ramos, Zanjoe Marudo and Daniel Matsunaga directed by Jason Paul Laxamana under Star Cinema Productions and CineKoEntertainment. Released last November 15, 2017.

A story of a girl named Michelle (Rhian Ramos)has fear of getting hurt in terms of love. So while she's with her present boyfriend, Chris (Daniel Matsunaga), feeling that he will break her up soon. She was convinced by her aunt to have a back up plan or fallback just in case they will break up. Then, coincidentally she come across with her ex- boyfriend (Zanjoe Marudo). A chance was given to them to rekindle their past love. Can Michelle prove that her fallback will succeed?

This film portrays another romantic-comedy with a unique plot and a lot of 'hugot line's.

A story of a simple man working as a barkerfalls in love with Bella (Shy Carlos) and will do anything for her. But her father hindered their love affair and Bella was kidnapped. The simple barkernow under takes and will do everything to save his love. A comedy filled incorporated with action. The movies will tickle your funny bone. It is quite hilarious and starred by the famous funny guy, Empoy, after his successful movie 'Kita-kita'.

The film have some hit and some miss in my opinion. Some jokes and scenes are funny especially when Empoy gives his 'hugot' lines and some are just plain corny. Though the movie still showed an edge. If you’re an avid fan of Empoy Marquez this movie is a must watch for you.

Stars versus Me

They came from the most famous house in the country, we saw them, we followed their every move, and we witnessed their struggles and growth inside the Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) house. After the PBB All in edition the two have been busy with their TV projects. We first saw them in "Hawak Kamay" and now in "O. My G." They already made an episode in "MMK" separately and she has made several episodes on "Ipaglaban Mo". So who am I referring to? Its Manolo Pedrosa and Maris Racal. And why am I writing about them? because they are having their first movie ever. The two are having their movie debut this June. The movie is entitled “Stars Versus Me” in which is the movie adaptation of a book with the same name published by Mindmaster Publishing House. The movie is directed by Joven Tan and is produced by Tandem. Joining the cast are Matet de Leon, Dennis Padilla, Gio Alvarez, Arlene Mulach, Jennie Desiderio, Kiray Celis, and Ms. Rita Avila.

Crazy Beautiful You

Mae Cruz-Alviar brings yet another romantic-comedy film that will surely bring the butterfly felling in your stomach. Coming from the success on directing the movies of the KimXi love team last year, Direct Mae will once again sweep off your feet in her new movie “Crazy Beautiful You.” It will be starred by the hottest love team of the country, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla. The teen king and queen will make your love month even sweeter and by the looks of it, it will belong to one of their successful and hit movies. For all I know there are many KathNiel fans that are willing to spend their time and money just to watch this great movie. One of the things that got me interested in this movie is that the two have very different roles compared to all of their previous projects. Bernardo has been stereotyped to play a sweet, cute, innocent and good girl characters while Padilla plays a rich, confident, and dark characters. This movie will be set very different for them as Kathryn will be the dark and troubled one and Daniel will have a good boy image. Second is the scenes in which it showcases some of the wonderful sceneries here in the Philippines. This caught my attention while watching the trailer. I’m mesmerized of how wonderful and perfectly the scenes are toned. I really have to say that the director is really brilliant. Also joining the cast are Lorna Tolentino, Gabby Conception, and Iñigo Pascual.

“Crazy Beautiful You” centers on the life of Jackie (Kathryn Bernardo), a wild and troubled teen. Jackie got into a big mess that changes her entire life. She was force to go to a medical mission to pay the consequences of her actions and from there, she met Kiko (Daniel Padilla), a pretty young boy that will come to the rescue. Would it be possible that Jackie will be saved from herself? Will she finally learn her lesson? Or will Kiko fail to do so? That Thing Called Tadhana

Coming from their success in the 2014 Cinema One Originals Film Festival, the romantic-comedy film “That Thing Called Tadhana” will be distributed by Star Cinema on the big screen this February. As the top grossing film and the audience choice winner in the said film festival, this wonderful movie totally deserves to be shared and be shown in a greater audience. Starring are JM de Guzman and Angelica Panganiban who showed a remarkable chemistry in the movie. The creative team of this film is the same creative team behind the acclaimed Metro Manila Film Festival entry”English Only Please”. “That Thing Called Tadhana” is directed by Antoinette Jadaone who have also wrote and directed several romantic-comedy films.

The movie is labeled as “The Ultimate Hugot Film of 2015” (Hugot: drawing out; pulled out) because of its hugot lines which can make viewers relate to the film. “That Thing Called Tadhana” is a film about a girl that just came out from a bad break-up. The broken-hearted Mace (Angelica Panganiban) went home from Rome but before she stepped into the plane, she had to leave some of her things because it was too many. But instead she met Anthony (JM de Guzman), a kind fellow citizen who offered to carry Mace’s excess baggage. English Only Please

Heaven’s Best Entertainment and Quantum Films presents a romantic comedy film “English Only Please”. It is one of the eight entries on the 40th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) and the only romantic comedy entry of the year. Starring are Jennylyn Mercado, Derek Ramsay, Cai Cortez, Kean Cipriano, Isabel Frial, and Lynn Ynnchausti-Cruz with special participation of Tom Rodriguez and Isabel Oli. This movie would be the first collaboration of Derek Ramsay and Jennylyn Mercado and their first rom-com film. So lets catch if there will be a strong chemistry between the two. The movie was directed by Dan Villegas.

“English Only Please” plots the story of how a New Yorker falls in love with a Filipina tutor. Julian Parker (Derek Ramsay) is a New Yorker that comes from a bad break-up with a Filipina. Because of the heart break that he was undergoing, Julian wrote everything that he felt in a letter. He then decided to translate it into Filipino and he looked for a Filipino translator and there he found Tere Madlansacay (Jennylyn Mercado). Tere is a certified perky and friendly Filipino-English tutor. Jullian flies into the Philippines and learns tagalong from Tere and their tutorial will go along for 45 days. Jullian seeks his ex-girlfriend with Tere to confront his hate-filled letter in Tagalog. As they are searching for Megan (Isabel Oli), Jullian’s ex-girlfriend, Julian and Tere became friends then start to spend more time together. Little do they know the two develops a relationship of more than just friends. Will Jullian get back to his ex or will he realize that she likes Tere? Will Jullian and Tere be together? The movie will be directed by no other than Mae Cruz-Alviar, the same director as “Bride for Rent”. “Past Tense” will be the last offer of Star Cinema for their anniversary and it will be their closing 20th anniversary movie.
